Description
FRIS is the regional CRIS system in Flanders, Belgium. The platform aggregates all the publicly funded research performed in Flanders. More than 80 research institutions deliver research information to FRIS, either through system integration, or via manual input. FRIS contains open data which is accessible via the portal and webservices. Closed data, such as nationality and gender of persons or project budget information, are used for monitoring and policy preparational purposes.
The key benefits of FRIS include shortening the chain from idea to innovation, simplifying reporting procedures and reducing administrative burden, enhancing policy preparation and monitoring and facilitating dissemination of public funded research towards the broader public.
