Abstract:
The presentation describes the multiple-stage technical process currently applied by Sigma for uploading data from an institutional CRIS into a VIVO instance. The information displayed on the VIVO portal (the "Experts Guide") and the timing of the process are analysed, both for single and multiple institutions acting as data providers in the latter case. VIVO may operate as a standalone system, but for cases where it's sitting on top of an institutional CRIS, it is suggested that the interoperability between both systems could become a much more standard feature by having a mapping between CERIF and VIVO. Sigma is involved in the early stages of the CERIF2VIVO project, a collaboration between euroCRIS and VIVO that aims to produce such mapping at the same time it addresses the refactoring of CERIF in order to simplify its complex data model.
