Abstract:
An overview is provided for the different initiatives attempting to promote a more responsible approach to research evaluation such as CoARA, the DORA Declaration or the Leiden Manifesto. This is followed by a proposal to use the research information held in CRIS systems to establish a framework of Open Science-aligned indicators that may provide the basis for a reformed research assessment framework in line with the recommendations made by CoARA. A tapestry composed of a wide range of such indicators is presented as an example for an evaluation framework that would allow all relevant research activities to be captured.
