A summary is provided for the Irish approach to Open Science planning from a research funder's perspective, the Irish Health Research Board (HRB). The European initiatives around Open Science and the Open Science Cloud (EOSC) are described, exploring the top policy goals and the wider organisational and governance framework. The Irish National Agenda on Open Research is progressing by building on top of previous and current coordination initiatives around Open Access and Open Data.
