Item type:Publication, RMAS – Delivering an integrated Research Management & Administration System(euroCRIS, 2012-06-08); ; ; ; In 2009, two feasibility studies were carried out to ascertain if there was a need for a ‘cradle to grave’ research and administration system. Several Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) expressed interest, identifying problems encountered when dealing with the management of research activities. With no supplier offering a comprehensive solution, the pathfinders began to solve the problem through the RMAS project. The Universities of Exeter, Kent and Sunderland, in conjunction with Nexus began the development of a framework which would allow data from the RMAS modules to be passed between systems and institutions via a Central Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Harmonising Research Reporting in the UK – Experiences and output from UKRISS(euroCRIS, 2014-05-13); ; ; The Jisc-funded UK Research Information Shared Service (UKRISS) project investigated the reporting of research information across the UK HE sector and assessed the feasibility of a national infrastructure based on CERIF with the objective of increasing the efficiency, productivity and reporting quality across the sector. A core reporting profile was developed that would enable harmonised reporting on RCUK-funded research, taking into account the HE-BCI survey as well as REF reporting elements. In this paper we describe the UKRISS modelling approach and provide some insight into the UKRISS reporting objects to support understanding of their formal CERIF representations, i.e. the selection of underlying CERIF entities; the challenges with managing objects and aggregations in CERIF. Item type:Publication, UKRISS – Feasibility study and proof-of-concept for a shared research information reporting service based on CERIF(euroCRIS, 2012-06-07); ; ; ; The UK Research Information Shared Service (UKRISS) project is being funded by JISC in the UK as part of the Research Information Management programme. UKRISS is a 16 month project that started in March 2012. The project partners are King’s College London (Centre for e-Research), British Library, Brunel University, Cottage Labs, euroCRIS, University of Exeter and the University of Edinburgh. The aim of the UKRISS project is to determine the feasibility, requirements and scope of a UK national research information reporting service, and should this prove to be attainable, to build a proof-of-concept infrastructure for the proposed service.
