Item type:Publication, Providing an application-specific interface over a CERIF back-end: challenges and solutions(euroCRIS, 2014-05-13); This paper presents a case of presenting information modelled in CERIF through an application-specific programming interface which does not require CERIF expertise by the developers. The CERIF data model is semantically rich and can be used for detailed description of entities of scientific / research activity. A sophisticated application interface is required to exploit the full range of CERIF capabilities. On the other hand, it is obvious that data about scientific-research entities are utilised by users and software developers with various level of familiarity with the CERIF model. Because of the diversity of CRIS systems’ users’ knowledge of CERIF, in certain cases it is useful to create an additional application interface with elements of some simple model which can be easily understood and used by users with low level or without any knowledge of CERIF. The article presents the design and implementation of a wrapper that enables bidirectional conversion of entered data using a simple model application interface to a CERIF back-end and the use of the wrapper in the ENGAGE project as part of an open infrastructure for Public Sector Information. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, FAIRness at University of Novi Sad - Discoverability of PhD research results for Non-Serbian scientific community(euroCRIS, 2018-06-16); ; The University of Novi Sad has more than 50,000 students and 5,000 employees and as such it is one of the largest educational and research centres in Central Europe. The University of Novi Sad offers 300 accredited study programmes on all study levels, undergraduate, masters, specialist and doctoral studies, which are carried out at the Faculties and University Centres for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Implementation of OpenAIRE Guidelines for CRIS managers onto the Finnish VIRTA Publication Information Service(euroCRIS, 2018-11-28); ; The presentation describes the workflows for information exchange underpinning the national-level VIRTA publications database in Finland. The situation with regard to OpenAIRE aggregation for Finnish publications is analysed and the conclusion is that it makes technical and economic sense to implement a centralised approach to OpenAIRE compliance based on VIRTA. This is to be achieved via the CERIF-XML Guidelines for CRIS Managers. The implementation process for this interoperability mechanism is described, including the CERIFication of the VIRTA data model, the setting of an OAI-PMH endpoint on the system and considerations on the validation of the metadata feed. A call is put out for closer collaboration among the different projects working in the same area of meeting the requirements in the OpenAIRE Guidelines. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Application of Kroki Mockup Tool to Implementation of Executable CERIF specification(euroCRIS, 2016-06-09) ;Filipović, Milorad ;Vaderna, Renata ;Ivković, Željko ;Kaplar, SebastijanVuković, ŽeljkoThe paper presents application of Kroki tool to create an executable specification of the CERIF standard. Kroki (fr. croquis – sketch) is an open-source tool that is being developed in order to foster development agility and better communication among team members with different specialties. It can be used for creating specifications of data-driven applications using two different notations (UML based and mockup based) and for generating application over the specification. This paper presents usage of Kroki tool for visualization and further development of CERIF data model, as well as the use of Kroki for generating a prototype of a CRIS system over the CERIF data model. The CERIF 1.5 specification was taken from the euroCRIS web site and entered into the Kroki tool. More than 280 CERIF classes are divided into 31 packages, in order to make CERIF model easier to read and comprehend. Thanks to its mockup and lightweight UML editor, Kroki enables each user, with or without background in information technologies, to understand and change the CERIF specification. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Multi-interoperable CRIS repository(euroCRIS, 2014-05-15); ; The paper presents the Exporter component which facilitates export of scientific-research results metadata from CRIS systems and enables creation of multi-interoperable CRIS repositories. The Exporter architecture is extensible with plugins for export of scientific-research results by various protocols and metadata formats. The Exporter is implemented as part of the CRIS UNS system including three plugins for export data throw three protocols: OAI-PMH and SRU standardized protocols, as well as an XML non-standardized protocol for exporting data to a repository of published scientific-research results of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Developing of Software Infrastructure for Research Domain at University of Novi Sad(euroCRIS, 2017-11-22)The DOSIRD UNS project started in 2009 at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia aims to develop and implement software infrastructure to improve the discoverability of the institutional scientific outputs and facilitate research management at UNS. The CRIS UNS research information management system and the PhD UNS digital library of institutional dissertations are fully operational project outputs, and an institutional repository to be implemented in the framework of the BE-OPEN project will be the next step. Data exchange via the OAI-PMH protocol is already taking place with aggregators like OpenAIRE and DARTEurope. There's finally ongoing work in the implementation of a multilingual, customisable search interface and in ensuring interoperability with the national-level BE-OPEN project for the implementation of Open Science in Serbia. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Using templates for presenting publication references in CRIS(euroCRIS, 2012-06-07); One of the software requirements of the research information systems is creating different kinds of reports about published results. A part of the CRIS UNS system is a software component for reporting implemented using the FreeMarker package in which the reports are generated as the outputs of the appropriate templates. Adding new templates to the component does not require the recompilation of the source code. The component’s input is the list of the references and a template, whereas the component’s output is the HTML representation of the references. The paper gives illustrative examples for the different reference styles. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Towards the Information System for Research Programmes of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia(euroCRIS, 2016-06-09); ;Surla, Dušan ;Trajanović, Miroslav ;Mišić, DraganKonjović, ZoraThe work describes the phases of the development of the information system on scientific activities covered by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The sequential phases of the project are: Recording data on scientific institutions, researchers, and research projects financed by the Ministry, Input and evaluation of the published results achieved in the research projects financed by the Ministry, Establishing electronic services for searching, presentation, and interoperability of data on scientific activity, and Generating various reports for the di fferent needs related to scientific activities. The information requirements are listed and the system software architecture is described. The development of the system is based on the recommendations of the organization euroCRIS.
