Building bridges across the ORCID ecosystem
    (euroCRIS, 2025-11-27)
ORCID plays an important role in improving the visibility, reliability, and interoperability of researchers’ data across the global research infrastructure ecosystem. This presentation, “Building bridges across the ORCID ecosystem”, focuses on a pilot project, Connecting Researchers to Member Integrations, and places it alongside two related initiatives: the expansion of the ORCID work types vocabulary and the growing interoperability between ORCID and other persistent identifiers, particularly those used in national CRIS or national CV platforms. Together, these developments highlight how ORCID functions not only as an identifier but as a connecting layer within the wider research information ecosystem.

Improving affiliation data in ORCID for enhanced research visibility and integrity
    (euroCRIS, 2024-11-28)
The presentation explains the recent improvements ORCID have made to allow users to best describe their affiliations and professional activities in their ORCID records. The different workflows to add affiliations to ORCID records are described together with the mechanisms implemented to increase the number of records that contain affiliation information. The criteria for CRIS vendors to become an ORCID Certified Service Provider are outlined and the working group on affiliations in ORCID is introduced. This WG, which euroCRIS is represented in, aims to provide best practices for institutions to directly deliver affiliation and professional activity data into ORCID on behalf of their professionals.
