Item type:Publication, Towards interoperability between Omega-PSIR and OpenAIRE(euroCRIS, 2018-06-14); ;Rybiński, Henryk; In this paper we discuss possible scenarios for enabling interoperability between Omega-PSIR and OpenAIRE. We have already performed some experiments towards implementing the support for CERIF-XML in the Omega-PSIR system. We will present modelling tools in the system Omega-PSIR and explain the adopted data model. In particular we explain how relationships between object in the model are presented. Special attention will be put on preserving history in the object life. Then, we will analyze similarities and differences between Omega and CERIF data models and propose possible mappings. We also present results of initial experiments concerning conversion between the models by means of intermediate semantic web stored in Apache Jena. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, OMEGA-PSIR – A solution for implementing university research knowledge base(EUNIS, 2015) ;Rybiński, Henryk; In 2010 a nation-wide strategic program SYNAT, aiming at building a scientific information infrastructure in Poland, has been launched. Originally, the program has been scheduled for the period of three years, in due of the program implementation it was extended till the mid of 2014. It was financed by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR) in Poland. A network of 16 academic and scientific partners has committed to implement the SYNAT’s objectives in the form of a universal open knowledge infrastructure for the information society in Poland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, How to collect and manage data in data-driven evaluation processes(euroCRIS, 2023-05-31)The presentation looks into how institutional CRIS systems like Omega-PSIR at the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT/PW) can best support the various assessment processes conducted in Poland. These include the evaluation of scientific activity performed every 4 years by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the employee evaluation performed every 2 years and continuously by universities and the accreditation of teaching programmes performed by the National Accreditation Office. Item type:Publication, OMEGA-PSIR: Institutional CRIS at Polish Universities(euroCRIS, 2017-11-22) ;Rybiński, Henryk; ; The OMEGA-PSIR Current Research Information System was originally developed at the Warsaw University of Technology as a tool to improve the visibility of institutional research outputs and to streamline the institutional information delivery to the Polon central system for research assessment in Poland. After six years of exploitation at the institution, the WUT Knowledge Base is now covering the whole institution, is used for internal research assessment purposes and is able to report to the Polish Ministry. OMEGA-PSIR has been adopted by 16 Polish institutions, which have their own User Group for coordination. OMEGA-PSIR also operates as institutional repository thus being able to support the implementation of Open Access and Open Science. Item type:Publication, BPM and CRIS working together for the ultimate data reliability: Omega-PSIR at Medical University of Łódź(euroCRIS, 2019-05-29); It is crucial for the CRIS/IR system to operate on complete and reliable data. For this sake, it is crucial to establish proper policies, roles, and responsibilities in the organisation. Still, some problems frequently occur like duplicate data, improper author matching, problems in reporting where author has more than one affiliation, not sufficient open access compliance etc. During the deployment at the Medical University of Łodz we are evaluating the approach where the Business Process Management System orchestrates the processes crucial for the reliability of CRIS data delegating tasks to people and other systems at the University. Item type:Publication, Omega-PSIR: Institutional CRIS at Polish Universities(Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (CVTI SR), 2018-11) ;Rybiński, Henryk; ; ; OMEGA-PSIR is an institutional Current Research Information System, originally developed at the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT). The system is used for presenting the University research in various aspects. It is also used for internal research assessment purposes and is able to report to the Polish Ministry. Since 2013 OMEGA-PSIR has been used as University Knowledge Base. The system has been adopted by 12 Polish institutions. A special User Group has been launched for coordinating the system development. At the universities OMEGA-PSIR operates as institutional repository thus being able to support the implementation of Open Access and Open Science. In addition, it is used as institutional CRIS. In the paper we briefly present the main system architecture and its features. We also focus on the experience of WUT, discussing the organizational matters that have to be solved for heterogeneous sources of information, such as distributed data entry for the bibliographic materials, staff activities and achievements, and theses on one side, and information about the research projects on the other side. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The role of standardization of CRIS systems in building Open Science Infrastructure - an example of Polish Medical Platform(euroCRIS, 2022-05-13); ; ; Rybiński, HenrykIn this presentation we will describe the Polish landscape of CRIS-related infrastructure. The CRIS adoption in Poland, after more than 10 years of constant development, is currently at a very mature level. It includes wide adoption of institutional CRISs, intensive cooperation between universities on the data standardization, national CRIS interoperable with institutional CRISs and the emerging domain CRIS platforms, such as Polish Platform of Medical Research. This joint effort supported by international partners, such as EuroCris allows us to face challenges coming from both local legislation changes and global open science trends. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, What to integrate within Research Information System(euroCRIS, 2024-05-16) ;Rybiński, Henryk; ; In 2010 the OMEGA-PSIR project was launched, aiming at building a system compromising the needs of the researchers (focussing to Open Access) with the needs of the university authorities (focussing mainly on research management). As an effect of this approach, we have decided to integrate within one system the functionalities of institutional repository (IR), Current Research Information System (CRIS) and Research Profiling System (RPS). In [1] we have discussed how such integration influences various aspects of the system architecture and its usage at the university. We have shown that such an integration leads to significant savings in maintaining the information infrastructure at the university, on the other hand it provides new opportunities giving rise to a much more rational organization of the workflow regarding the processes for the maintenance of the database contents. In this paper we will present some thoughts regarding the impact of integrating IR, CRIS and RPS. One of the first effects was a fairly easy way to expand the system functionalities. In spite of the fact that the system architecture was flexible, it was due to the potential resulting from having under one system all data resulting from the integration of the aforementioned system. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Research Information Systems as a Catalyst for Academic and Industrial Cooperation: the example of OMEGA-PSIR(euroCRIS, 2025-11-26)Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) play a key role in fostering collaboration between academia and industry as well as among researchers themselves. By providing structured, transparent access to information about research services, laboratories, and expertise, CRIS platforms make it easier for external partners to identify potential collaborators and resources. Furthermore, the integration of modules for tracking mentoring programs and grant proposal development supports capacity building and knowledge exchange within research institutions. This presentation will discuss how CRIS implementations enhance institutional visibility, streamline cooperation processes, and ultimately strengthen innovation ecosystems linking science and business.
