Item type:Publication, VIVO as a front-end for an underlying ‘monolithic’ CRIS (II):The UPF approach by SIGMA AIE(euroCRIS, 2020-06-17)A case study is presented for the implementation of a VIVO system as a research portal on top of the SIGMA Research CRIS solution at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Data exchange workflows are explained, with a mention to the euroCRIS-led CERIF refactoring project that aims to map CERIF to VIVO making such interoperability much more agile. There are plans to roll out the VIVO research portal implementation to further SIGMA Research users in Spain, which added to the already existing users, may allow a critical mass to be reached that enables the emergence of an all-European VIVO user group to exchange know-how. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The euroCRIS and VIVO representatives recognized a shared goal and the need for joint action in integration of research domain information across the world. One specific action started after the signing of the MoU is updating the mapping between the CERIF data model and the VIVO Ontology from 2013. Item type:Publication, Research Information Management (RIM)/Current Research Information (CRIS) Systems for Research Organizations: A Project Brief from the Open-Source VIVO Community(EUNIS, 2023-06-15); ; The use of Research Information Management (RIM) or Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) can significantly enhance the efficiency and innovation capacity of research organizations. RIM/CRIS systems aggregate, curate, and utilize diverse data on institutional research activities, enabling the strategic utilization of data for decision-making. VIVO is an open-source RIM/CRIS system that enables the recording, editing, searching, browsing, and visualizing of scholarly activity using linked open data. VIVO is customizable and supports additional domains of scholarly activity. The VIVO community is actively engaged in developing and evolving the system to expand its usability and utility through internationalization, multilanguage capabilities, installation of new versions, and API improvements. As an open-source RIM/CRIS system, VIVO is customizable to suit the unique use cases of an institution. Institutions own and control their data, enabling them to manage their privacy or security needs. Item type:Publication, CERIF2VIVO - Mapping: Revival(TIB Hannover, 2022-06-15); ; ; The Memorandum of Understanding signed by the VIVO Community and euroCRIS states that a mapping between the VIVO ontology and the CERIF data model is common objective for both organisations. In order to achieve this goal a joint task force was established. The process to update a previous, outdated attempt at mapping the CERIF data model to the VIVO ontology issued in 2013 started by the end of 2021.
