Abstract
Building on these "few thoughts on OA Monitoring and CRISs" available at https://www.eurocris.org/blog/few-thoughts-oa-monitoring-and-criss-i, the presentation summarizes the ways in which CRIS systems and the CERIF standard could support the attempt to monitor the progress in Open Access implementation at a national level. An overview is provided on the consensus definitions and the e-infrastructure that are seen as necessary for a harmonised measuring effort to succeed across countries. Some case studies are also mentioned for national CRISs and a wide enough array of institutional ones. System interoperability is highlighted as a key requirement for the OA monitoring initiative, and the gradual progress being currently achieved in making CRIS systems more interoperable via the use of CERIF-XML is described.
