Abstract
An update is provided on the progress around the implementation of the CERIF-XML Guidelines for CRIS Managers that will allow CRIS systems to exchange information with the OpenAIRE aggregation. The METIS2OpenAIRE project to make a first institutional CRIS OpenAIRE-compatible already has produced a public URL for the OAI-PMH endpoint on METIS, and is currently testing the validation of the CRIS metadata feed against the requirements included in the Guidelines. Some recommendations are provided on metadata quality to make the validation process simpler, and the next steps in progressing with a wider implementation are described. These include among others the availability of an OpenAIRE CRIS validator and the parallel progress of the budget-neutral partners in the METIS2OpenAIRE project. The euroCRIS Directory of Research Information Systems (DRIS) is also to play a relevant role in the process.
