Abstract
The Czech Technical University in Prague (ROR ID https://ror.org/03kqpb082; CTU in the sequel) runs its in-house built institutional CRIS called V3S (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.procs.2019.01.077) which covers the institution’s scholarly output since the 1990-ies. CTU relies on the Web of Science and Scopus citation databases for signaling new publications of its authors and for tracking citations. An earlier (2019) attempt to evaluate the level of coverage of citations in an open information source (https://doi.org/10.2478/jdis-2020-0037) showed an unsatisfactory level of coverage.
We will study the following questions: 1. To what extent can the publications from the institutional CRIS contents be matched in OpenAlex? 2. How many publications attributed in OpenAlex to the CTU are not represented in the institutional CRIS? 3. To what extent citations of the institution’s scholarly output that are tracked in the CRIS are matched in citations in OpenAlex? 4. Does OpenAlex oger any citations on top of those from the previous question?
