Abstract
The presentation provides a comprehensive summary of the technological challenges Current Research Information Systems will need to face in the short-term future, covering areas such as the semantic web and Linked Open Data (LOD) initiatives, cloud computing and SaaS as a desirable framework for CRIS operation including interaction with locally-run systems, the wide and growing set of applicable visualisation tools, CRIS operation on mobile devices and the development of CRIS application frameworks.
