Abstract
The Jisc's Equipment Data is a national platform to discover UK university and research organisation equipment and facilities, https://equipment.data.ac.uk/. The portal relies on data provision from institutions on the research equipment and facilities they operate and is currently being enhanced. An analysis of the challenges associated with the management of this kind of research information has been conducted in recent months and its conclusions were published in a report. The information exchange workflows, use cases, risks and pain points identified in this exercise are presented together with a roadmap for the further development of the portal. This roadmap includes exploring mechanism to issue persistent identifiers for these objects.
Other current areas of Jisc activity in the research information management domain are also briefly presented, among then the Octopus platform to register outputs at all stages and the dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for research management systems (CRIS).
