Abstract
An approach based on Risk Management is taken to examine the complex challenges posed by Digital Preservation of research data. Risk Management defines prevention and control mechanisms to address the risk attached to specific activities and valuable assets, and may successfully be applied to the analysis of the requirements for research data preservation, including organisational, technical and legal ones.
