dc.description | 36 slides.-- English-language version of the presentation delivered by the REBIUN Open Access Subgroup (Strategic Plan Line II) at the 26th REBIUN Meeting held Nov 7-9 at the University of Salamanca | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | The presentation describes the main findings of the CRIS survey carried out in June-July 2018 by the REBIUN Open Access subgroup among the 76 Spanish universities that are members of REBIUN (Network of Spanish University Libraries). From the 62 responses received (82% rate), 45 institutions state they operate a CRIS. The results show that these research information management systems are significantly consolidated tools used at Spanish universities for a variety of purposes, the main ones of which are recording the institutional research outputs, reporting both internally and externally, and providing public information on researchers and areas of expertise. Research libraries are found to frequently play an important role in the management of the CRIS, especially in the area of record entering and validation. Low levels of two-way interoperability with institutional repositories are identified, although this is one of the areas where improvements are stated to be taking place. Researchers are found to require an important degree of support in order to deal with the recording of their research activity in these systems. | en_US |
