dc.description27 slides.-- Presentation delivered at the Topic Session: "On the way to agreed national and international classification schemes".en_US
This presentation reviews the many issues related to institutional affiliation coding and the difficulty of using this field for research information analysis. The project for cleaning German institutional address data being presently carried out by the German Competence Centre for Bibliometrics is described. This project aims to keep a large database of institute-specific string patterns for thousands of German institutions, in an effort that will be more effective the more international its implementation becomes.en_US
