Gestión y sistemas de información para el desarrollo institucional de la investigación en Universidades

Abstract

Slides delivered at the 4th 'Conversatorio Cafés Mimir Andino' held on Jul 27th, 2021 on the topic of research information management at universities, http://mimirandino.org/cafes-mimir-andino/. The presentation addresses several key questions ("what?", "who?", "where?", "how?", "what for?" and "for whom?"') as a way to introduce research information management systems or CRIS and their use for the purpose of research information management.

The presentation is followed by a discussion, led by Enrique Vera, VC for Research and Extension at Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC), a parter in the Mimir Andino project. The discussion aims to answer the following questions:

- How to address the governance for these information systems - How to facilitate the adaptation/transition process from the currently available systems to a CRIS-like system - What are the main criteria to be kept in mind by universities when choosing a technology or a research information systems provider? - From your experience, and specifically in the area of institutions in Spanish-speaking countries, what has been the most relevant strategy in the adaptation and implementation of a CRIS model?
