Mappings are essential to interoperability for both human and systems when there is a need to exchange information without a common formats. In this paper we report on the results of work related to mappings between models from the national CRIS systems and the new refactored and modernized CERIF2 model. Metadata Schema and Crosswalk Registry (MSCR) is a a new tool under development as part of the FAIRCORE4EOSC project that is designed to support the maintenance of schemas and crosswalks between them. The MSCR also facilitates the operationalization of crosswalks i.e. the transformation of metadata records. We will present the current status of the CERIF2, the results of mapping from the Finnish national CRIS research.fi and CERIF2, and demonstrate the role of the MSCR in process of implementing operability.en_US
