Authenticus is a project for automatic retrieval and validation of bibliographic references from a set of national and international databases in order to collect publications for researchers at Portuguese institutions for research assessment purposes. The presentation describes the technical features of this tool, which has been implemented as a pilot complement to the SIGARRA research information system at Universidade do Porto. Authenticus is planned to be subsequently rolled out as a national-level tool.en_US
