    Towards integration of research information: the SK CRIS system as part of research infrastructures

    The information system about research and development SK CRIS was built in accordance with the standards and best practices of research information in the EU. In addition to the CERIF relational data format, which allowed us to record links between basic objects, we therefore also implemented open science and FAIR principles for the collected data. We focus on the implementation of unique identifiers, data management and metadata quality control, as well as the integration of various data sources into larger whole with the character of research infrastructures. The goal is to use the collected data not only at the national level, but also to provide them for international comparison as part of research infrastructures.

    The Slovak Current Research Information System (SK CRIS) as a part of the Central Information Portal for Research, Development and Innovation (CIP RDI) has the status of Information system of public administration, defined by the Act 275/2006 on information systems of public administration. The Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI) is responsible for operating, maintaining and providing technical support to this system on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic (ministry).

    Cooperation in science and the possibilities of its evaluation based on data from the CRIS database

    Currently, there is no doubt about the importance of cooperation in science and research and its positive impact on the achieved results. Cooperation is a relatively broad term, and this fact is also reflected in the parameterization of indicators focused at scientific cooperation in the evaluation of science. The goal of our research was to find out how it is possible to analyse cooperation in science and research. At the same time, we wanted to confirm the hypothesis that the CRIS system and its data model enable working with data about the collaboration in science and research.

    Map of Research Infrastructure as a Tool of the Information System for Research, Development, and Innovation

    The registration of research infrastructures is an integral part of the R&D information system. Its development at national level follows from EU activities in this area. It is based primarily on the documents of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) followed by national documents formulating policy aimed at the development and use of research infrastructures and their involvement in European and international initiatives.
