    The Zapping PTCRIS session (PTCRIS: National Portuguese Current Research Information System) delivered as a CRIS2026 opening keynote was a dynamic format featuring a series of short, fast-paced presentations designed to deliver key updates and insights about the PTCRIS Programme. Bringing together multiple speakers in a “lightning talk” style, this session highlighted recent developments, ongoing initiatives, and future directions of PTCRIS in an engaging and accessible way. The zapping session took participants on a journey through its evolution, showcasing major milestones, impactful achievements, and the continued commitment to advancing research information management in Portugal.

    PTCRIS - Building a Connected Research Information Ecosystem in Portugal

    PTCRIS is the national initiative for integrating and streamlining research information systems across Portugal. This presentation will explore the evolution of PTCRIS as an interoperability program for research information management in Portugal. It will describe how PTCRIS has developed a collaborative, standards-based ecosystem linking research entities like researchers, institutions, and infrastructures. Special emphasis will be placed on recent developments that enhance international interoperability and support cross-border research analytics — particularly the development of added value services built on top of PTCRIS framework “base” services, the implementation of DOI assignment for funded research projects and the development of the national research funding, Portal SciPROJ. These initiatives contribute to strengthening transparency, traceability, and alignment with European CRIS standards.
