Item type:Publication, BrCris: A Catalyst for Advancing Open Science and Scientific Data Processing in Brazil(euroCRIS, 2024-05-15); ; ; ; Brazil currently has several institutional platforms, such as the Lattes Platform, the Sucupira Platform, the Transparency Portal, the Theses and Dissertations Catalog/Library and the Industrial Property Bank. These platforms were created with the aim of providing centralized and up-to-date data on the academic, scientific and technological activities of their researchers. In this sense, BrCris aims to establish a single model for organizing scientific information throughout the Brazilian research ecosystem, in line with the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles. Among the entities in this ecosystem are researchers, projects, infrastructures, laboratories, research institutions, funders and research results expressed mainly through scientific publications, theses, dissertations, scientific datasets, software and patents. In addition, BrCris has contributed to the process of aggregating data platforms and repositories, with the aim of promoting access to and evaluation of science. This work significantly highlights the importance of the BrCris Platform as an indispensable resource for scientific research in Brazil, acting as a catalyst for Open Science and driving the continuous advancement of knowledge. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Visual Analytics for National CRIS: Exploring Brazilian Research Data Through the BrCris Platform(euroCRIS, 2026-05-21); ; ;Dias, JabsonThis paper presents an analysis of the data visualization and exploration capabilities of the Brazilian Current Research Information System (BrCris), a national platform designed to integrate, certify and disseminate information on scientific, technological and innovation activities in Brazil. Grounded in international CRIS standards such as CERIF and VIVO, BrCris aggregates heterogeneous open data sources and provides interactive visual interfaces that support data discovery, filtering, analysis and reuse. The study highlights how visual analytics mechanisms embedded in BrCris enhance access to research information, facilitate evidence-based analysis and foster interoperability within the context of Open Science. Item type:Publication, Advancing Research Information Interoperability: Practices, Challenges, and Opportunities in Modern CRIS Ecosystems(euroCRIS, 2026-05-22); ; This paper examines the evolving role of Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) in enhancing research information quality, interoperability, and evaluation in the context of modern trends such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), open infrastructures, and open-source solutions. Using the BrCris as a case study, we analyze the integration of national and international data sources and highlight strategies for improving metadata enrichment, data harmonization, and research assessment practices. The study identifies key challenges in achieving FAIR principles and presents practical recommendations to support more trustworthy and interoperable research information ecosystems. This contribution aligns with the CRIS2026 themes by discussing the potential of AI-driven processes, open infrastructures, and governance approaches that strengthen research information management across institutional and national boundaries.
