    Research Equipment in CroRIS in Support of Open Research Infrastructure in Croatia

    One of the modules of the Croatian National CRIS CroRIS that promotes open science is Equipment and Services. This presentation focuses on the equipment sub-unit of that module, which contains metadata on scientific equipment located at scientific, research, and higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia. The availability of equipment information supports more efficient use of existing equipment, justifies its acquisition, and encourages cooperation among research institutions, researchers, and between science and industry. Equipment data were migrated to the CroRIS database from the former Šestar database. The presentation describes the technical characteristics of the system, the migration process, the metadata used to describe equipment, data management practices, the use of equipment data for official purposes by different types of CroRIS users and stakeholders, and interoperability possibilities.

    The role of national CRIS in the quality of higher education

    The University of Zagreb Computing Centre (SRCE) is currently developing a new national information system for the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth, called ISPiK (Information System of Indicators and Quality in Science and Higher Education). This system will support different processes regarding quality assurance and financing of higher education and research in Croatia, the reaccreditation process being one of them. The CroRIS national CRIS in Croatia is identified as a key data source for this process

    Challenges and Practices of the User Support Service in the Croatian Research Information System – CroRIS

    The Croatian Research Information System - CroRIS provides information and data about Croatian scientific and research activities through one central portal. It consists of several modules: CROSBI, Projects, Persons, Equipment and Services, Institutions, Journals, Patents and Products, Events, and Crosmos. Croatian scientific research institutions, as well as higher education institutions are responsible for the credibility and integrity of their data within the system. The user roles in CroRIS are divided according to their level of authority. In this presentation, the roles of superadministrators, institutional coordinators and editors will be further analyzed. Furthermore, this paper offers an overview of the most common challenges that CroRIS User Support Service encounters in carrying out its tasks of maintaining data contained in the system and meeting the needs of the various groups of CroRIS users.
