Item type:Publication, SIGMA CRIS, an implementation of VIVO(euroCRIS, 2019-05-29)The growing complexity of the digital research environments has highlighted the importance of having powerful tools for searching and discovering research information. The advance of Open Science, that includes not only Open Access, but also Open Data and the need to make the data FAIR, has shown that it's necessary to evolve the way we search and visualize the research results. So, when the scientific information is correctly stored in the CRIS, it must also be easy to search and find, and must guide the discovery of the information. This is one of the objectives within SIGMA's Strategic Plan for the Research area. Since the beginning of 2018, SIGMA is working to improve the search tools for scientific production, whose first results we will present here. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Artificial intelligence for CRIS Systems(euroCRIS, 2024-10-22); ; The "Artificial intelligence for CRIS Systems" (AI4CRIS) Working Group is a new initiative by euroCRIS aimed at exploring the impact and exploiting the opportunities posed by the application of AI to research information management workflows and to their associated CRIS systems. These slides introduce the WG objectives and present some findings arising from a survey conducted among members of the euroCRIS community on current and anticipated uses of AI in the domain. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, VIVO as a front-end for an underlying ‘monolithic’ CRIS (II):The UPF approach by SIGMA AIE(euroCRIS, 2020-06-17)A case study is presented for the implementation of a VIVO system as a research portal on top of the SIGMA Research CRIS solution at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Data exchange workflows are explained, with a mention to the euroCRIS-led CERIF refactoring project that aims to map CERIF to VIVO making such interoperability much more agile. There are plans to roll out the VIVO research portal implementation to further SIGMA Research users in Spain, which added to the already existing users, may allow a critical mass to be reached that enables the emergence of an all-European VIVO user group to exchange know-how. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The power of generative AI for CRIS systems: a new paradigm for scientific information management(euroCRIS, 2024-05-16); This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of potential generative AI applications within CRIS systems, identifying key benefits such as improved data quality, advanced analysis and visualization capabilities, and enhanced decision-making support. However, the integration of AI also introduces challenges, including data quality assurance, architectural requirements, ethical considerations, and the need for transparency and trust in AI-generated outcomes. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Walking towards integrating CRIS and repository at the UPF: The CRIS/IR interoperability Project(euroCRIS, 2019-11-20); ;Blanco, Elena; Losada, MarinaWith the advancement of the Open Science movement, the wide spreading of institutional repositories (IRs) and the ever-growing implementation of the CRIS’s by the universities, we need to take a step forward to integrate the CRISs and the IRs. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Initiatives for making VIVO platform more interoperable(euroCRIS, 2022-12-02); A number of ongoing initiatives are presented to make VIVO more interoperable with other platforms and standards. These include the mapping between CERIF and the VIVO ontology, the integration of the VIVO platform and a DSpace-based repository and building a REST endpoint for getting data from VIVO and ingesting data into it. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analyzing a CRIS: From data to insight in university research(euroCRIS, 2018-06-14); The exponential growth of data from research environments has highlighted the emergence of having best analytical processes for the evaluation and assessment of research and research impact. This paper aims to show how we can work with the data stored in a CRIS, CERIF compliant, to provide the main university insights in the research area. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The AI4CRIS working group: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Research Information Systems(euroCRIS, 2024-11-28); ; Following the productive discussions at the CRIS2024 conference session on AI and CRIS systems, we have launched the AI4CRIS working group. This initiative, coordinated by euroCRIS, aims to explore and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance CRIS functionalities. Our key objectives, which will be refined based on the input and expertise of our members, include: - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, CERIF-VIVO mapping v1.0(euroCRIS, 2022-05-13); ; ; In July 2021 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between VIVO and euroCRIS. The euroCRIS and VIVO representatives recognized a shared goal and the need for joint action in integration of research domain information across the world. One specific action started after the signing of the MoU is updating the mapping between the CERIF data model and the VIVO Ontology from 2013. The mapping from 2013 was outdated, because both formats have evolved in the meantime.
