Abstract
In Croatia, the MetaRegister, managed by The Ministry of Justice, Administration, and Digital Transformation is a central catalogue that documents data available from various government authorities and public services. It lays the groundwork for an integration of information systems within public administration, with one of the goals being to reduce paper use in public services. MetaRegister provides essential details for managing and connecting institutions' data within public services. This way data exchange saves costs on technical maintenance and communication tools. Also, institutions using the data do not need to know the exact source of the information.
The systems listed in the MetaRegister can be accessed through the Government Service Bus (GSB). GSB is a central platform for secure data exchange. Once connected to GSB, institutions can get data from different official sources (public registries) based on their needs.
As part of digital transformation efforts, data from the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth official records managed through the Croatian national CRIS CroRIS has been added to the MetaRegister catalogue. Starting this year, besides providing data, within CroRIS we also aim to improve its data quality by retrieving information through GSB. This will make data within the CroRIS more accurate and reliable.
