Abstract
While countries like the Netherlands or Denmark are much more homogeneous in their national-level CRIS landscape, Türkiye is one of the countries – together with Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom and Spain among others – where a trend towards “going local” in the choice for institutional CRIS software solutions has become more prominent over the years. The shift in the CRIS landscape towards country-specific software solutions as opposed to international ‘monolithic’ CRIS instances Is unmistakeable – though it may be happening at different speeds and in a slightly different way in different countries. While the latter, “international” kind of commercial solutions – the likes of Pure, Converis, Esploro or Symplectic Elements – are still prevalent in many countries and widespread in many others, the consolidation of the CRIS landscape tends to result in a growing share of smaller solutions, often supplied by country-specific software providers.
