Abstract
Slides delivered at the 4th 'Conversatorio Cafés Mimir Andino' held on Jul 27th, 2021 on the topic of research information management at universities, http://mimirandino.org/cafes-mimir-andino/. The presentation addresses several key questions ("what?", "who?", "where?", "how?", "what for?" and "for whom?"') as a way to introduce research information management systems or CRIS and their use for the purpose of research information management.
The presentation is followed by a discussion, led by Enrique Vera, VC for Research and Extension at Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC), a parter in the Mimir Andino project. The discussion aims to answer the following questions:
- How to address the governance for these information systems
- How to facilitate the adaptation/transition process from the currently available systems to a CRIS-like system
- What are the main criteria to be kept in mind by universities when choosing a technology or a research information systems provider?
- From your experience, and specifically in the area of institutions in Spanish-speaking countries, what has been the most relevant strategy in the adaptation and implementation of a CRIS model?
