Abstract
As the research field of artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more widespread as a branch of computer science, this technology is becoming increasingly popular in public life and in our daily lives. In addition to the opportunities offered by the use of this discipline and related technologies, it is also necessary to take into account the associated ethical problems, which are not necessarily apparent at first glance and risk being forgotten behind the fascination of the possibilities that AI offers become. According to a recent study, most institutions running a current research information system (CRIS) consider AI to be a central aspect of their database development. Two thirds of all respondents stated that AI and machine learning are important components of their CRIS, data platform and analytics initiatives. Forms of AI can be found in numerous areas of work. These include, among others, cataloguing, text and image recognition, chatbots, robotics, information retrieval, etc.
