Abstract:
The case study presented in these slides describes the standalone VIVO configuration implemented at the TIB Hannover to serve the research information management (RIM) needs at the institute, https://vivo.tib.eu/fis/. The presentation looks into the data management workflows for publications, author names and projects and into the use of OpenRefine to clean up the data. It is argued that a standalone VIVO may be the most efficient way to address such RIM needs at small institutions with a diverse research production that may not get indexed in the regular data sources for CRISs. The presentation also explores the main RIM areas that presently pose hard-to-tackle challenges from a VIVO perspective (the so-called "Four horsemen of the VIVOcalypse").
