Abstract:
It’s frequent to see snapshots for the comprehensive institutional research information flows CRIS systems are able to handle. It’s not that frequent however to see the picture of the institutional services that need to team up in order for these comprehensive research information flows to run smoothly. The presentation argues that the role of CRIS manager largely involves coordinating these various institutional units -- incl among others the research office, the research library, the project management office and the institutional IT services -- and that the set of required competencies is likely to exceed a single person's skills. A summary is provided for the tasks associated to a CRIS manager role and the available opportunities for training.
