Title: | Citation Content Analysis in the Cirtec project | Authors: | Parinov, Sergey | Keywords: | citation analysis;research evaluation;current research information systems;Russia | Issue Date: | 20-Nov-2019 | Publisher: | euroCRIS | Series/Report no.: | Autumn 2019 euroCRIS Strategic Membership Meeting (WWU Münster, Germany, Nov 18-20, 2019) | Conference: | Strategic Membership Meeting 2019 – Autumn (Münster) | Abstract: | Citation content analysis studies data extracted from a full text of research papers (in different languages) registered in CRIS. It works specifically with reference lists typically located at the end of papers, with in-text citations which refer to, summarize, paraphrase, or quote from reference list entries, and with citation contexts, meaning a text around the in-text citations. The Cirtec project is funded by the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA, http://www.ranepa.ru/eng/). It has two main aims: 1) to create a public service for processing available research papers (in PDF format) in order to build and regularly update an open dataset of citation content data, and 2) to use the citation content data for developing methods of qualitative citation analysis and new indicators and services, which can improve scholarly communication and visualization of scholarly cooperation. |
