The presentation introduces the KIM-CRIS project for implementing a CERIF-based Research Information System at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and reviews the reasons for skepticism and resistance against CRIS implementation and how to gradually increase the possibility of its acceptance by making emphasis on a service-oriented system which has the required instruments available to ensure data privacy.
