Abstract:
The presentation describes the process for developing the in-house-built GISMO research information management system at the University of Ghent, https://research.ugent.be/. The various stages in the several-year process are summarised, making emphasis on the driving force towards system interoperability and information exchange harmonisation that the regional Flanders Research Information Space (FRIS) meant for the project. The GISMO features are described as well as the interactive process to adapt its design to the needs of their end-users the institutional researchers. A second, more technical approach to the project description highlights the value of CERIF for interoperability purposes.
