Abstract:
The Flemish Research Information Space (FRIS) regional CRIS is used as an example for the kind of research information exchange workflows that underpin a solid CRIS infrastructure with system interoperability and the CERIF data model at its core. Emphasis is made on semantic interoperability and a business layer on top of the specific research information data model as key requirements to ensure a harmonised information exchange mechanism. A few examples are provided for the sort of indicators that the FRIS data aggregation allows to gather for research evaluation purposes on a regional scale.
