The national plan on Open Science and the Recognition & Rewards program in the Netherlands are two major driving forces in changes in publication and evaluation culture. How can the CRIS systems support these transitions? A working group is conducting a project to understand what is needed from the CRIS systems to support these changes. The key question is “Which role can or must the CRIS have in an academic world without counting, and with a huge diversity of research outputs.
