Abstract:
The presentation introduces the New Zealand Research Information System (NZRIS) developed by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) of the New Zealand Government to capture and accurate snapshot of the Research, Science and Innovation (RSI) ecosystem in the country. NZRIS is built with an emphasis on research funding workflows to provide transparency around the distribution and use of public funds and an oversight of the research activity and its key actors. The NZRIS data providers are summarised together with an insight into the system architecture. Emphasis is made on indigenous (Māori) data considerations. Next steps forward are finally outlined, including plans for releasing the system in the Spring of 2023.
