Title: | A Persistent Identifier Strategy for NWO | Authors: | Cruz, Maria | Keywords: | research information management;research funders;persistent identifiers;NWO | Issue Date: | 1-Dec-2022 | Publisher: | euroCRIS | Conference: | Strategic Membership Meeting 2022 – Autumn (Nijmegen) | Abstract: | The presentation introduces the NWO Persistent Identifier Strategy issued in Apr 2021 by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). The goal of a funder-led PID strategy is to improve data quality for funders and the broader community and increase funders’ capacity to monitor the outcomes of funded projects. The NWO PID strategy relies on three main PIDs: ORCID for researcher identification, CrossRef Grant IDs for funded grants and ROR for identifying research organisations. The need for funders to engage with other stakeholders at a national level and internationally with other funders is also highlighted. |
