Abstract:
The Sceiba project for improving quality control and monitoring of scientific research results at a national and institutional level took place in 2019-2022 under the VLIR-UOS programme of Flemish international university cooperation. Sceiba was designed as a cooperation initiative between universities in Cuba (Universidad de La Habana, Universidad de Pinar del Río), Peru (Universidad Agraria de La Molina, Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola) and Flanders (Hasselt University, University of Antwerp). The project objectives were (i) to strengthen the methods for evaluation and monitoring of research results (and specifically of scientific publications) at the national and institutional levels and (ii) the integration of research evaluation methodologies in the international context. The general goal was to improve the quality of scientific publications as part of research output.
