Abstract: 
The presentation describes the route to implement Open Science followed by the Flemish Research Institute for Nature and Forest (Instituut voor Natuur- en Bosonderzoek, INBO) in the period 2009-2023. INBO is is the independent research institute of the Flemish government that underpins and evaluates biodiversity policy and management by means of applied scientific research, data and knowledge sharing. With the overarching goal to become an Open Science Institute, this 15-year work has involved the adoption of policies and actions in the areas of Open Access, Research Data Management, Open Methods, open source research software, open peer-review and open education. The way the institutional Pure-based CRIS at INBO is used to pursue open science-related objectives is described.
