Abstract
Universities need to position themselves, push and promote research and secure funding. They require detailed insights into their research strengths, comprehensive information about their researchers, and strategic planning based on this knowledge. Furthermore, securing these strategies and operational funding necessitates meaningful reports based on reliable data and analysis.
Hence, universities necessitate systems supporting various aspects of the research lifecycle, including grant management, project tracking, publication management, collaboration and reporting. A proactive CRIS (Current Research Information System) at a technical university can significantly enhance research efficiency, amplify research visibility and impact, and encourage collaboration among researchers and other stakeholders. For the fulfilment of these requirements, the TU Wien implemented different systems.
