Abstract:
The Multilingual European DOI Registration Agency (mEDRA) is a joint venture est. 2004 between the Italian Publishers Association (AIE) and Cineca. The presentation describes the initiatives carried out by mEDRA on the harmonisation of the persistent identifiers for digital objects involved in data exchange, which include persons, deals and objects. The ARROW initiative (Accessible Registries of Rights Information and Orphan Works Towards Europeana) for linking books to IP information is presented as an example of services built on top of these harmonised standards.
