Abstract:
The PID-Network Germany project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and launched in March 2023. In the initial six-month period of 2024, the project conducted a survey in Germany with the objective of assessing the adoption, utilization and gaps of Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) in the research and scientific infrastructure of academic and non-academic organizations. PIDs, including ORCID, DOI, and others, are vital for enhancing research data and information interoperability, ensuring long-term access to research artifacts, and enabling effective research data and information management across it-infrastructure borders.
