Abstract
Comprehensive research information managed in Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) constitutes a valuable resource for research organizations, funding bodies, and researchers. However, this information realizes its full potential only when individual research objects are assigned persistent identifiers (PIDs) and are meaningfully linked to other scholarly or scientific entities through these identifiers.
The PID Monitor (https://pid-monitor.org) provides in-depth insights into various types of persistent identifiers and their associations with research-related entities. Beyond analyses by PID type, entity, and PID provider, the dashboard enables the visualization of developments in areas such as Open Access, Open Data, and related aspects of open scholarship.
