The multilayered policy framework around AI is presented covering CAPES itself, the Brazilian Ministry of Education and the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan (PBIA). A number of areas in the research information management domain are explored where generative AI may successfully be applied. A case study at CAPES is described, using the Sucupira database for the processing of historical documents of the graduate studies. The rationale for the creation of a Community of Practice around AI is explained and the objectives of such CoP explained, including the investment in infrastruture. |
