Abstract:
This presentation introduces the GCRIS AI developed for İzmir Institute of Technology as a first step toward building an AI-enhanced Current Research Information System (AI-GCRIS). The chatbot acts as an intelligent assistant that retrieves and analyses data from the institutional GCRIS database, providing accurate, contextual, and multilingual responses to user queries. Built using a multi-agent architecture with LangChain, PostgreSQL, and OpenAI API, it enables dynamic interaction with research data through natural language. Future development aims to expand this foundation into a full AI-CRIS platform that unifies researcher identities, integrates external sources such as ORCID and Scopus, and delivers predictive and proactive institutional insights powered by advanced AI and data analytics.
