Abstract:
The presentation merges the institutional and the research funder perspective to describe the gradual process to achieve a research information management system that operates "like a black box solution that doesn’t complain, does everything and is always perfect". While still far away from this ideal, significant steps have been taken to improve system interoperability. A cultural change is also required beyond the technological challenges to reach a solution that will satisfy researchers, institutions and research funders alike.
