Abstract:
Introduction by Gabriel David, Informatics Department of the Faculty of Engineering (FE) at Porto University, of the research data management initiative carried out by the FE team to curate structural health data in the area of civil engineering. This involved both performing research on metadata model for projects relying on monitoring data and building a prototype digital archive for the test research data produced by the project. Areas such as automatic data ingestion, data trust, access control, metadata assignation mechanisms and data visualisation were identified as key issues to be addressed for an effective implementation of a research data management strategy.
Description:
18 slides.-- Presentation delivered at the session "Ongoing projects related with scientific data management".
