The situation with regard to OpenAIRE aggregation for Finnish publications is analysed and the conclusion is that it makes technical and economic sense to implement a centralised approach to OpenAIRE compliance based on VIRTA. This is to be achieved via the CERIF-XML Guidelines for CRIS Managers. The implementation process for this interoperability mechanism is described, including the CERIFication of the VIRTA data model, the setting of an OAI-PMH endpoint on the system and considerations on the validation of the metadata feed. A call is put out for closer collaboration among the different projects working in the same area of meeting the requirements in the OpenAIRE Guidelines. |
