Abstract:
There is a growing requirement for institutions to provide research information to funders, public administrations and other stakeholders. In order to be able to effectively carry out this information exchange, there is a need to harmonize the way the data is coded in different institutional and higher-level research information management systems. This contribution presents the initiative taken by the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in order to enable an effective information exchange between the institutional CRIS and the national system run by the German Research Foundation (DFG), highlighting the conceptual and technical challenges that need to be addressed by the project.
